Eczema on hand

Having eczema in general can be uncomfortable and painful even worse can be having eczema on your hands.  This can be especially annoying, as you can imagine or may have experienced. One reason is because there are constantly in use. Has a day ever gone by when you didn’t use your hands? Probably not. To add to your misery there is also the self consciousness and embarrassment at the appearance of your eczema hands. I mean seriously who wants to shake a hand that looks like it may be infected. I know that’s a little harsh but I’m basically expressing emotions that I myself have experienced in the past.

There are several things that you can do to soothe the discomfort associated with hand eczema. First you want to make sure that you are not washing your hands in soap that is highly fragranced. Obviously you won’t always be in a position to choose the soap you use however if you are then you want to go with something with no fragrance and that moisturizes, most doctors recommend dove. Next you want to make sure that your keep you hands highly moisturized. There are several items that would serve this purpose however I’ll recommend two, and that’s Aquaphor and Eucerin. These are name brand items however your local drug store should have a generic equivalent for a lot cheaper.

There are lot of different over the counter medications that you can use to treat your hand eczema however over time these medications can be harmful to your skin. I would work harder at keeping your skin properly moisturized to avoid an outbreak.

Home remedies that can work wonders at preventing the onset of an outbreak. For instance castor oil can provide and excellent treatment for your hands. You can try giving yourself a castor oil eczema treatment by simply washing your hands in warm water to soften you skin then completely covering your hands in the oil. I would then wrap your hands in plastic to lock in the moisture. Leave this treatment in place for approximately 10 min. This would provide a spa like treatment that looks goods and feels good on your skin.

If you have been fighting with eczema and can’t seem to keep it away, if nothing seems to work read Beat Eczema it will guide you through getting rid of your eczema once and for all.

Anybody with Hand Eczema or any form of Contact Dermatitis should seriosly consider purchasing some DermaSilk Gloves. I found them to be fantastic at stopping the itching and scratching and also seem to help make my hands less dry.

Take a look at http://www.dermasilk.co.uk for details.
